Apparently, one Charli XCX song has the perfect CPR tempo, but I honestly hope I never have to try it.

In a social media post, the American Heart Association revealed that “Card Declined” by Charli XCX has 112 beats per minute. This makes it, as the non-profit organization notes, perfect for Hands-Only CPR.

This is certainly a great tip that could potentially help save lives, and I sincerely would hope that it does. But I also sincerely hope that I, personally, am not ever in a situation where I have to find this out, because I do not have the temperament necessary for saving a life.

Charli XCX released “Card Declined” as part of her newest studio album

“Card Declined” is a song from Charli XCX’s eighth studio album: Music, Fashion, Film. The project dropped in July 2026 and received widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike.

In a 2026 interview with Rolling Stone, she shared that, before making the album, she felt “creatively drained and not ready to write anything new.” However, her musical collaborator, A.G. Cook, dished that he knew Paris Fashion Week would be the perfect way to get her back in the mood. “I knew that by being thematically at fashion week,” he said, “she could Method act the whole, ‘Charli’s going to record an album in Paris during fashion week.’”

Cook was right. Charli got back into the creative mindset, knocked out a new record, and is now going on tour. Check out her upcoming concert dates below.
